NeuroMuscular Transmission (NMT) Monitoring

"Why Neuromuscular Blockade?

Out of the three pillars of anaesthesia, which are hypnosis, analgesia and neuromuscular block, the latter was the first to be monitored since the seventies. In addition, it is the one that recently has had the greater pharmacological advances. Paradoxically, it is the least used monitoring in the operating room.

It is necessary to introduce a cultural change, in such a way that the monitoring and the reversal of the NMB, together with the recent advances, can bring security to all operating theatres."
